Our datacenter will be performing some network maintenance on the morning of November 21, 2008 between the hours of 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM Central USA time (CST). The maintenance will involve working on switches to improve redundancy and reliability by adding uplinks and reconfiguring VLANs.

There is expected to be four or five short (few minute) outages during the maintenance window and your service should not be affected for more than one hour.

We will be here as always during the maintenance window to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Thank you for your patience.

All websites should be fully functional at this time. The intermittent MySQL problems have also been fixed. The HTTPD failure was caused by huge log files taking up all available disk space on a certain filesystem and the applications being unable to function. We have fixed this problem and will be taking steps to ensure it does not happen in the future.

During the HTTPD downtime, services such as FTP, email, DNS, etc were all functional, so this only affected the web serving portion and that is why only the websites were unavailable. Server1 itself is approaching one year of uptime (341 days currently).

Again, we are very sorry for this inconvenience and will be making sure it does not happen again.

Thanks very much for your understanding.

Hi everyone.

We're very sorry to report some HTTPD downtime that happened this morning at about 7:40 AM Central USA time. The HTTPD software (Apache) hung up somehow and was unavailable. We are still investigating the cause of this and will post the issue as soon as it is known.

We are also aware that certain sites using MySQL may have some intermittent issues at this time. We are working non-stop to fix this.

Thank you for your patience, and we are very sorry once again. Updates as available.

This maintenance was re-scheduled to this morning and was supposed to have very small effects on connectivity. Unfortunately there were some complications and there was a network outage between 1:00 and 1:25 EDT. We're deeply sorry for this inconvenience.

Things seem to be back online now, however the maintenance window is officially still open for another 1.5 hours. There should only be minimal issues from here forward.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
